Blackboard

What is Blackboard?

Blackboard is an online learning system used for all your courses at Pierce Mortuary Colleges.

How do I access Blackboard?

You can access your courses on Blackboard at pierce.blackboard.com. You'll need to enter the username and password provided by IT.

I can't log in to Blackboard.

Click on this link to reset your Blackboard password. If you still can't log in, please submit a help request here. We can reset your password for you. If your account is suspended, we will let you know, and you will need to call the school to ask to be reinstated.

I want to change my Blackboard password.

After logging into Blackboard, click on your name on the left-hand side of the screen. Choose 'Password Reset' from the menu.

I'm missing a course in Blackboard.

If your courses don't appear by the start of your term, email AcademicOutreach@pierce.edu.

I'm having a problem in a Blackboard course.

For issues within a Blackboard course, email AcademicOutreach@pierce.edu.

Who can help me with computer issues?

Each college campus has an on-site IT support specialist to help with technical issues and requests. You can submit a help request here.

What does IT help with?

IT can assist you with school-provided computers, websites, and accounts with few exceptions.

How do I send a help request?

To get help from IT, please submit a request here. You can find the same link under 'Quick Links' on your college's website.

The help request form isn't working.

Please give us a call at (888) 256-1427 between 8:00 AM CST and 7:00 PM CST on Monday through Friday.

Phone Line

The Help Desk phone line is open from 8:00 AM CST to 7:00 PM CST on Monday through Friday. The phone line will still take messages during weekends.

Cengage Support

Please read your Syllabus or ask your instructor which Cengage service your course uses (MindTap, WebAssign, CNowV2, etc.).

School Email & Microsoft Office

Why do I need a school email?

Your school email is used for communications between you and the school. We recommend checking it regularly to avoid missing important updates. Your other account credentials will be sent to your school email.

Where is my school email?

You can access your school email by logging in at office.com and clicking on the blue Outlook icon on the left-hand side of the screen. You'll need to enter the username and password provided by IT.

How do I access Teams, Word, etc.?

You can access other Microsoft Office apps by logging into office.com and clicking on the respective app icons on the left-hand side of the screen.

I forgot my email password.

You can reset your email password with this link. Please make sure your password is at least 8 characters long and includes a number and a symbol like $ or #.

I can't reset my password.

Please submit a help request explaining the issue, and we will assist you. Submit your request here.

My Microsoft Office apps aren't working.

Ensure you are using Microsoft Office apps (Teams, Word, Outlook, etc.) on Google Chrome or Firefox browsers on a Windows or Mac/Apple computer or laptop. If they still aren't working, submit a help request here.

What is MFA?

MFA or Multi-Factor Authentication is a security feature that protects your personal information. It requires you to verify your identity when logging in to prevent unauthorized access.

How do I use MFA?

You will be guided through the setup for Multi-Factor Authentication when you first log in to your Microsoft Office account. Once every 30 days, Microsoft will send you a verification code when you log in.

Student Information System (SIS)

How do I access SIS?

You can access your SIS account at pierce.orbund.com. Use the username and password that IT sent to your school email.

  • Students: Select 'Student' as your role to log in.
  • Faculty: Select 'Instructor' as your role.

Can I change my SIS password?

Yes. After logging in, click on 'Setup and Customization' on the bottom left of the menu. Then click 'Account and Profile' and enter a new password. Click on the 'Save' button at the bottom of the screen to save your new password.

I can't log in to SIS / "Authentication Failed".

Click on this link to reset your SIS password. If you still can't log in, please submit an IT help request here, and we will provide new credentials.

I have an issue within the SIS.
